Campo di Trens

Freienfeld is located a few kilometres south of Sterzing and was not founded until 1928 when the independent communes of Stilfes, Trens and Mauls were merged to create the commune of Freienfeld. The most famous part of Freienfeld is without doubt the Maria Trens pilgrimage centre. Freienfeld lies 940 m above sea level, nestled in the midst of a breathtaking landscape. Thanks to its central location, the commune is the perfect base for excursions both into the surrounding area as well as further afield.
